President Jokowi Provides Additional Bonus for U-22 Team

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will provide extra bonus for U-22 National Football Team who have just won the 2019 AFF U-22 Championship after beating Thailand with score 2-1 at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on 26 February 2019.

Previously on Wednesday (27/2), Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi handed over a total bonus of Rp2.1 billion for the athletes and officials, with athletes got Rp65 million and officials got Rp62 million each.

“I will add Rp200 million for each athlete, coach, assistant coach as well as doctor,” said President Jokowi when meeting with the U-22 Team at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (28/2).

On the occasion, President Jokowi said that the people of Indonesia are highly proud of the national team’s achievements in which marked the raise of Indonesian football.

“I hope we can get similar achievement in future tournaments, such as Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League and Sea Games,” the President added.
