President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (11/01) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, hosted leaders and members of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK RI).

On that occasion, the President received the Audit Reports and the Summary of Audit Reports for the first semester of 2022.

According to BPK member Nyoman Adhi Suryadnyana, the number of ministries/institutions that received an unqualified opinion (WTP) predicate exceeded the target set in the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

“So, 95 percent of the ministries/institutions received a WTP predicate – higher than 92 percent targeted in the RPJMN,” Nyoman said.

Nyoman added that the BPK provided a number of recommendations to the Government based on the results of the examination.

“So, what we have conveyed is related to some of our suggestions and points of view, as well as recommendations based on the results of examination in ministries, institutions, and state-owned enterprises. Suggestions to the Government serve as an alternative to policy making as well as improvements for state financial governance and accountability,” he said.

Several of BPK’s findings, among others, are related to internal control and compliance with laws and regulations.

Nyoman expressed hopes that the Government would implement recommendations from BPK to improve state financial governance.
