President Jokowi Receives Bomber Jacket from Papuan Fashion Designer

As part of his working visit to Papua province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (03/21) visited product stands of Papuan youths at the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH), in Jayapura city.

During the visit, President Jokowi received a brown bomber jacket from a Papuan fashion designer Eunike Yunita.

“We knew that Mr. President likes to wear stylish clothes and I hope he will love the product that we made special for him,” Eunika said, adding that the jacket was designed by combining Papuan batik patterns with other fabrics.

Eunike also expressed hope that the PYCH can provide opportunities for Papuan fashion designers to host a fashion festival.

“We truly yearn for the same opportunity to hold a festival every year as Jember Fashion Week, since we can introduce Papua’s culture from the different perspective,” Eunika stated. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (GWH/RAS/HD)
