President Jokowi Receives Candidate Names for OJK Board of Commissioners

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (05/30) received the Selection Committee for candidates of the Board of Commissioners members of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, who also helms the selection committee, said that the committee appeared before the President to report the results of the selection for two new positions of the OJK Board of Commissioners.

The new positions are as follows.

  1. Executive Head of Supervision of Venture Capital Financing Institutions, Microfinance Institutions, and other Financial Service Institutions concurrently member.
  2. Executive Head of Supervision of Technological Innovation in Financial, Financial Digital Asset, and Crypto Asset Sectors concurrently member.

For the record, the formation of the new positions is regulated under Law Number 4 of 2023 on the Development and the Strengthening of Financial Sectors.

Sri Mulyani further said that the selection process has been carried out since March 29, 2023. Out of 1,345 candidates who applied, 118 candidates met the requirements to proceed to a series of selection stages. Out of 118 candidates, eight candidates made it to the final interview.

“Then, in the fourth and final stage of the selection process, out of eight candidates, we have chosen and recommended six candidates to the President,” she added.

The six recommended candidate names are Agusman, Adi Budiarso, Budi Santoso, Hasan Fawzi, Erwin Haryono, and Mardianto Eddiwan Danusaputro.

According to Sri Mulyani, the President will choose four candidate names to be submitted to the House of Representatives (DPR) for a fit and proper test to be carried out within a maximum period of 45 days.

“It is our hope that both Executive Heads of the OJK will be appointed and then inaugurated on August 11, 2023,” she remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (AP/RAS/MMB)
