President Jokowi Receives Letters of Credence from Six New Ambassadors

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi, received Letters of Credence from six new Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (LBPP) of Friendly Countries to the Republic of Indonesia, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (03/02).

The ceremony began with the reverberation of national anthem of each friendly country subsequently after arrival of the Ambassadors at the palace.

The six new Ambassadors are as follows:

  1. Francisco de Asis Aguilera Aranda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Indonesia;
  2. Aşkin Asan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Indonesia;
  3. Lahcene Kaid-Slimane, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Republic of Indonesia;
  4. Luis Raūl Tsuboyama Galvān, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to the Republic of Indonesia;
  5. Ta Van Thong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Republic of Indonesia;
  6. Lu Kang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia;

The Letters of Credence submission was held by adhering to strict health protocols such as maintaining a safe distance and wearing face masks.

The submission marked the official start of their ambassadorial duties in Indonesia. They will subsequently be domiciled in Jakarta.

After the submission of the credentials to the President, the Ambassadors and their respective companions bid their farewell. Indonesia’s national anthem Indonesia Raya was also reverberated.

Also accompanying the President during the ceremony were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Director General for Protocol and Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andy Rachmianto. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (FI/MUR)
