President Jokowi Receives Order of Zayed Award

During his state visit to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (07/17), President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo received Emirati highest civil decoration from the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The award was presented by President MBZ during the bilateral meeting with President Jokowi at Qasr Al Watan Palace, Abu Dhabi.

The award is bestowed in recognition of President Jokowi’s efforts to strengthen the close relations between the two countries and enhance bilateral cooperation during his tenure.

The Order of Zayed is the United Arab Emirates’ highest civil decoration conferred on world leaders and heads of state. Previous recipients include Xi Jinping of China, Narendra Modi of India, Vladimir Putin of Russia, and Indonesia’s President-elect Prabowo Subianto.

President MBZ mentioned that the Order of Zayed is awarded to President Jokowi as a tribute to his valuable efforts to advance the relations between the UAE and Indonesia. He also conveyed his best wishes for President Jokowi’s continued health and prosperity, as well as for the progress and welfare of the Indonesian people.

Upon receiving the award, President Jokowi expressed his appreciation to President MBZ, as it is an embodiment of the special relations between the two countries. The Indonesian President was proud as this award is named after the late Sheikh Zayed, the founding father of the UAE and an inspirational global figure known for his enduring humanitarian values.

On another occasion, President MBZ also awarded the Order of the Union to Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. This award is given in appreciation of Minister Luhut’s sincere efforts in strengthening the strategic partnership between the UAE and Indonesia. (BPMI/DNS) (AY/RAS)
