President Jokowi Receives Phone Call from President Erdogan to Exchange Eid Wishes

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Sunday (2/8) at the Bogor Presidential Palace received a phone call from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to exchange Eid al-Adha wishes.

“I wish Your Excellency President Erdogan, Mrs. Emine, and all Turkish people a Happy Eid al-Adha. May Your Excellency, Mrs. Emine, all the people of Turkey always be in good health,” President Jokowi said.

On that occasion, President Erdogan also extended his Eid wishes to President Jokowi, First Lady Ibu Iriana and all Indonesian people.

During the conversation, President Jokowi applauded the increasing cooperation between the two countries, including the possibility of cooperation in COVID-19 handling.

“I understand that Turkey is in an advanced stage of vaccine development. I am pleased to hear that our two Ministers of Research and Technology have discussed the possibility of cooperation in this matter,” President Jokowi said.

President Jokowi also expressed hope that in a later visit of President Erdogan to Indonesia, various forms of cooperation can be actualized. (BPMI/EN)
