President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, accompanied by Minister of State Secretary, received Putri Indonesia 2019 Frederika Alexis Cull and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray, along with 39 finalists of the 2019 Puteri Indonesia pageant, at the Garuda Room, Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Monday (11/3).

Chairwoman of the Board of Puteri Indonesia Foundation, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardhani who initiated the meeting, asserted that the finalists of the 2019 Puteri Indonesia pageant who came from heterogeneous background ranging from student, flight attendant, models, to presenters will promote the manifestation of Indonesian national motto “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” (unity in diversity) and state ideology.

“During 10-day quarantine, the finalists were equipped with several knowledge such as anti-corruption material from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), as instructed by the President,” Putri said.

The Chairwoman carried on that they were also provided with guidance against narcotics from the National Anti-Narcotics Agency (BNN), and guidance against hoaxes from the Cyber Crime Division of the Indonesian National Police. Other guidance is on politics in which they were called on to cast their votes on the elections, she added.

For the record, Frederika Alexis Cull representing Jakarta 1 is the winner of Putri Indonesia 2019 Grand Final which was held in Jakarta, on Friday (8/3). Meanwhile, the first runner up is Jolene Marie Cholock Rotinsulu from North Sulawesi, and the second runner up is Jesica Fitriana Martasari from West Java. They were chosen based on three criterias that is 3B : Beauty, Brain, and Behavior.

“The three winners will represent Indonesia in several international pageants including Miss Universe, Miss International, and Miss Supranational,” Putri concluded. (EN/AGG/ES)
