President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated the implementation of the Presidential Instruction (Inpres) on Regional Roads in Central Sulawesi province on Tuesday (03/26).

This Presidential Instruction includes the construction of fifteen roads with a total length of 147 kilometers and a cost of Rp330 billion spread across 9 regencies/cities.

“Today, by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I officiate the implementation of Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads in Central Sulawesi,” said President Jokowi.

Local resident, Christian, expressed joy at the infrastructure improvements. He said that the impact of development was already being felt, especially in Banggai Islands regency.

“Because of the road program implemented by the central government, we can already feel the impact of infrastructure development,” said Christian.

Reynold, a student, emphasized how road improvements have made his journey to school safer and more comfortable. “The existence of this road is something very extraordinary for us, the people of Banggai Islands regency, because we can use this road without being afraid of slipping down,” said Reynold.

Joshua, another student, stated that road improvements increase safety and comfort, especially for motorbike riders. “This road has helped us a lot because previously the road had a few holes, but with this new road, the safety can be further improved,” said Joshua.

The inauguration of the Regional Roads Presidential Instruction marks an important step in the Government’s efforts to advance regional infrastructure, support citizen mobility, and improve the quality of life in Central Sulawesi province. The President asserted that the Government is committed to continuing to equalize infrastructure development throughout the country.

“I think not only here, in other provinces we will also check all implementations related to regional roads,” said the President. (BPMI/AIT) (EST/MMB)
