President Jokowi Reminds to Prepare Food Supplies and Price Stability Ahead of Fasting Month, Eid Day

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo requested the preparation for fasting month and Eid Al-Fitr should be better year by year.

First, President Jokowi reminded to calculate the supply and manage price stability for basic commodities from now.

“Related to basic commodities, we should start to prepare (the supply and price) from now. Then, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and PT Pertamina (state-owned oil and gas company) must ensure the availability of fuel,” said President Jokowi in his introductory remarks on a Limited Meeting, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, on Thursday (5/4).

Second, related to transportation facilities and infrastructure, President Jokowi said that the Government must accelerate the construction and repairment of roads and bridges.

Third, related to national security, President Jokowi ordered the Indonesian National Police Chief, assisted by the Indonesian National Defence Forces (TNI) and State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to anticipate security disturbance during fasting month, so that Muslims can worship peacefully.

Attending the Limited Meeting were Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Minister of Transportation Budi K. Sumadi, Minister of Manpower Hanif Dhakiri, Head of National Development Planning Agency Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara, Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Asman Abnur, and Indonesian National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian.
