President Jokowi Reminds to Simplify Investment Regulations
In the midst of global economic slowdown, many countries are slipping into recession, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo has said.
President Jokowi also said that the Government must race against time to simplify the regulations that hamper investment.
“Today, we need to make progress; please do not talk about similar issues that we have discussed in the last meeting,” the President said during his introductory remarks at a Limited Cabinet Meeting on Investment Arrangement and Requirements, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (25/9).
For the record, in the previous meeting, the President has ordered investment-related parties to provide legal certainty for investment activities in the country.
The Limited Meeting was attended by Working Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Archandra Tahar, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs A.M. Fachir, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Attorney General Prasetyo, Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) General Tito Karnavian, and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Lembong.
