President Jokowi Returns to Indonesia After PNG Working Visit

Following a working visit in Papua New Guinea (PNG), President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (07/05) departed for Jayapura, the capital of Papua province, from Jacksons International Airport, Port Moresby, PNG, at around 6 local time.

PNG Prime Minister James Marape personally accompanied President Jokowi in a courtesy ceremony.

Both leaders also stood on the stage of honor to listen to the national anthems of both countries. Afterwards, President Jokowi shook hands with Papua New Guinea officials who were also present.

President Jokowi then climbed the stairs of the Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft, accompanied by a courtesy cannon blast. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (FI/EP)
