President Jokowi: Revision of KPK Law Must Strengthen KPK
President Joko Jokowi Widodo asserted that the revision of Law Number 30 of 2002 on the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is the proposal made by the House of Representatives and is now still being discussed.
Therefore, the President said that matters concerning the revision should not be asked to him.
Nevertheless, the President affirmed that the revision must be aimed at strengthening the KPK.
I have to say that the revision of the Law must strengthen the KPK, President Jokowi told reporters during his working visit to Lampung Province on Thursday (11/2).
Furthermore, related to the things needed of the proposal of the revision in which it is said that the revision must obtain an approval from the KPK Supervisory Council, President Jokowi noted that it is still the proposal made by the DPR.
For the record, the DPR has decided to postpone the finalization of the revision of the law until next week.
The decision was made in a consultative meeting attended by chairmen of fractions within the DPR and the decision was made after two fractions, the Democratic Party fraction and the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) party fraction, proposed the postponement of the plenary session about the revision of the law.
