President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo expressed condolences over the passing of former First Lady Kristiani Herrawati, better known as Ani Yudhoyono.

“We, the Indonesian government and Indonesian people, would like express our deep condolences on the passing of Ibu Kristiani Herrawati, Ani Yudhoyono, the wife of Indonesia’s sixth president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, at age 67 years old,” Jokowi said in a press briefing at the Bogor Palace on Saturday.

“I call on the Indonesian people to pray for her to be given the best place by God’s side, and for her family to be given strength and patience during this trying time,” he added.
Ani Yudhoyono passed away in Singapore at 11:50 a.m. local time on Saturday after battling blood cancer since February. (EN)
