President Jokowi Sends Minister of State Secretary to Visit Buya Syafii

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo sent Minister of State Secretary Pratikno and Coordinator of Special Staff to the President Teten Masduki to visit Ahmad Syafii Maarif or popularly known as Buya Syafii, a former chairman of the country’s second-largest Islamic organization, Muhammadiyah, at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta Province.

“President Jokowi is concerned about Buya’s health condition thus the President asked me and Pak Teten to visit him,” Minister of State Secretary Pratikno said to reporters after visiting Buya Syafii at the hospital on Saturday (27/7).

For the record, Buya is currently receiving medical treatment due to urinary tract infection. He underwent a non-surgery treatment at Military Air Force Central Hospital Dr. Suhardi Hardjolukito (RSPAU) on Friday (26/7).

Buya Syafii is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Agency for the Implementation of State Ideology of Pancasila (BPIP). (Presidential Secretariat/ES)
