President Jokowi Signs Decree on Presidential Regulations Formulation Program

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on 13 February 2020 has signed Presidential Decree Number 5 of 2020 on Presidential Regulations Formulation Program of 2020 (Link: copy of Presidential Decree Number 5 of 2020 on Presidential Regulations Formulation Program).

The Presidential Decree aims to implement the provisions of Article 31 of Law Number 12 of 2011 on Formulation of Laws and Regulations as amended by Law Number 15 of 2019 on Amendment to Law Number 12 of 2011 on Formulation of Laws and Regulations and Article 31 of Presidential Regulation Number 87 of 2014 on Implementing Regulation of Law Number 12 of 2011 on Formulation of Laws and Regulations.

The President stipulates Presidential Regulations Drafts to be prioritized in the 2020 Presidential Regulations Formulation Program as stated in the Appendix which is an integral part of the Presidential Decree.

The Program as intended by the Decree is conducted for a period of 1 (one) year.

“The Initiator reports the progress of formulation of Presidential Regulations Drafts as intended by the FIRST Dictum every quarter to Minister of Law and Human Rights,” the THIRD Dictum of the Presidential Decree reads.

The President also decides that Minister of Law and Human Rights conduct verification and evaluation on the progress report of formulation of Presidential Regulations Drafts as intended by the THIRD Dictum and subsequently reports to the President.

“The Presidential Decree shall apply as the date of its promulgation,” the Fifth Dictum of the Presidential Decree reads. (EN)
