President Jokowi Stipulates National Committee for High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnership, 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, Friday (08/16), issued Presidential Decree Number 26 of 2024 on the National Committee for High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnership (HLF MSP) and the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF).
The National Committee has duties to formulate and stipulate work and budget plans, prepare and organize the forums, monitor and evaluate the forum organization, and compose a report on the organization of HLF MSP and the 2nd IAF, which will take place in Bali on September 1-3, 2024.
Article 5 of the decree states that the National Committee is led by Directors whose duties are to provide guidance, recommendations, and considerations in organizing HLF MSP and the 2nd IAF. The Directors consist of the Indonesian President, Indonesian Vice President, and Coordinating Ministers.
The National Committee also consists of Chairpersons, Division Persons in Charge, and Secretariat.
“The position of Chairpersons of HLF MSP and the 2nd IAF are shared by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency,” it says in Article 6.
The Chairpersons are responsible for coordinating the preparation and organization of the two forums, coordinating the duty performance of Division Persons in Charge, and reporting the forum organization to Directors.
The Division Persons in Charge of the National Committee for HLF MSP and the 2nd IAF are as follows:
- Persons in Charge of Substance Division are helmed by Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency for HLF MSP and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for the 2nd IAF;
- Persons in Charge of Event, Logistics, Health, and Infrastructure Division are helmed by Minister of State Secretary;
- Persons in Charge of Communication and Media Division are helmed by Minister of Communications and Informatics; and
- Persons in Charge of Security Division are helmed by Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces.
The Decree further states that in performing their duties, the National Committee can cooperate and/or coordinate with ministries, non-ministerial Government agencies, regional governments, private companies, and other parties if deemed necessary.
“The term of service of the National Committee begins from the date of the stipulation of this Presidential Decree until December 31, 2024,” the decree says. (UN) (DH/MMB)
