President Jokowi Stresses Importance of Peace, Stability in Region

President Joko “Jokowi” Wednesday (06/09) chaired the 26th ASEAN Pluss Three (APT) Summit held at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Jakarta.
This meeting was attended by ASEAN state leaders, Premier of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol, and Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida.
“I ask that all of us share the same feeling, have the same awareness, and join hands to maintain the peace and stability in the region and continue to respect international law,” President Jokowi said, adding that for more than two decades, ASEAN Plus Tree has made many achievements and stimulated growth in the region.
However, the President said that ASEAN Plus Three should not feel complacent about those matters.
“We must continue to unfold and create new collaboration opportunities wherein green growth becomes one of the priorities in the future” he said.
President Jokowi also expressed appreciation to the People’s Republic of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea for supporting the ASEAN-Indo-Pacific Forum and green growth in ASEAN by contributing to establishing the ecosystem of electric vehicle (EV) battery. (DND/UN) (SS/DH)
