President Jokowi Takes IMF Managing Director to Observe KIS Implementation

After meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Monday (26/2), President Joko Jokowi invited Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde to conduct a blusukan (impromptu visit) to Pertamina Hospital in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
At the hospital, the President invited Lagarde to observe the implementation of the Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS).
President Jokowi explained that during the visit the Government wants to show that Indonesia has a health security system called the Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS) the Social Security Provider Body for the Health (BPJS Kesehatan).
Ive just informed that the participants of KIS is already 92.4 million people and the total participants of programs held by BPJS is 193.1 million people, the President said, adding that during their meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Lagarde asked the President about Indonesias social security system.
President Jokowi revealed that the Government had distributed KIS to 92.4 million people, while membership in the BPJS Kesehatan had reached 193.1 million people.
“The social security system in Indonesia is one of the biggest in the world, the President said.
According to Madam Lagarde, the facilities provided are good. The system is also good, the President added.
Joining the President during the visit were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Health Nila F. Meloek, President Director of BPJS Kesehatan Fahmi Idris, and Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. (UN/ES) (EP/YM/Naster)
