President Jokowi Takes Ministers on Nusantara Morning Tour Ahead of Plenary Session
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (08/12) arrived at MBH reservoir in the new capital of Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan province.
The President was warmly greeted by several Ministers.
Upon arrival, President Jokowi and the Ministers explored the reservoir guided by Minster of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, while receiving a detailed explanation of its crucial role in supporting the sustainability of Nusantara.
On that occasion, the Head of State encouraged all his ranks to experience the clean and healthy morning air in the Nusantara, where the air quality index is currently low at 6 out of 50 max.
“The air here is indeed very fresh and clean, which is beneficial for health and longevity,” the President told journalists after the inspection to the reservoir.
After touring the reservoir, the entourage visited the Sumbu Kebangsaan area, where Minister of Public Works and Public Housing enthusiastically explained its role as a symbol of national unity and progress.
From the Sumbu Kebangsaan, the President invited the Ministers to the State Palace, a symbol of executive power in Nusantara where they first took a group photo in the courtyard to mark their unity and commitment to establishing Nusantara as a modern, environmentally friendly capital before continuing with further inspections.
Following the group photo, the President guided the Ministers on a tour of the State Palace, showcasing several key rooms designated for future government activities.
The Ministers, impressed by the design and facilities, exhibited a blend of relaxation and enthusiasm.
The morning’s activities concluded with a visit to the Garuda Palace where the first Plenary Cabinet Meeting of Nusantara was held and the Ministers prepared to discuss several important agendas.
“First, we will revisit the details of Nusantara. Second, we will discuss the Purchasing Manager Index (PMI). Third, we will address other issues related to sustainability and the necessary preparations for the transition by all ministries. That covers everything, more or less” he remarked.
The morning’s activities aimed to provide a chance to review development and reinforce the unity of the country’s leaders in overseeing the significant transformation occurring in the new capital. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/DNS) (RIF/EP)
