President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Friday (19/6) exchanged views and aspirations on national issues with retired military, police, and veteran legion leaders at the Bogor Palace.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, who accompanied the President at the meeting, said that President Jokowi received inputs and opinions on several national issues, one of which is on the Pancasila ideology that lately has become a concern in the public.
“The retired military, police, and veteran legion conveyed their proposals while reinforcing the Pancasila principal. President Jokowi also shared the same sentiment, stating that Pancasila is the final ideology for Indonesia,” Mahfud explained.
The Minister added that the legal foundation for the Pancasila ideology is found on the MPRS Decree Number 25 of 1966, which was later stipulated by MPR Decree Number 1 of 2003.
“Everyone during the meeting agreed that Pancasila is the one mentioned in the opening of the 1945 Constitution on 18 August” Mahfud said. (BPMI/EN)
