President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo gave a number of directions to the newly appointed Interim Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.

“President Jokowi addressed three issues, namely flood management, spatial planning, and traffic jams,” said Heru on Wednesday (10/10).

Regarding traffic and transportation, Heru said that he will continue the programs that had been carried out by the previous governors of Jakarta.

“Regarding traffic jams, actually the city already has a good blueprint since Governor Wiyogo era, followed by Governor Fauzi Bowo, up to the current governor. Certainly, we will continue the program,” said Heru.

“Related to other issues, such as integrated transportation of MRT, it must continue not only from Lebak Bulus to Kota, but also from Pulogadung to Dukuh Atas,” he continued.

In addition, related to flood prevention, Heru will also continue the flood prevention programs that have been implemented previously. Heru said he will coordinate with related parties to resolve the issue.

“All of the governors’ programs are already good. Now, it depends on the implementation on the ground by related agencies,” said Heru. (BPMI SETPRES/AIT) (EST/MUR)
