President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (10/07) ordered board of directors of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Workers Social Security Provider Body)

“Mr. President has ordered us to be cautious in managing the funds,” Managing Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Anggoro Eko Cahyo said in his statement at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

According to Anggoro, the amount of funds collected currently amounts to Rp607 trillion and 89 percent of it is invested in government related investment, with 65 percent of which is in State Securities (SBN).

“This is to ensure the funds can remain safe and available when needed,” Anggoro said, adding that  the number of BPJS Kesehatan participants are rising from 28 million to 35 million people and he targets to double it to 70 million in five years.

In addition, BPJS Kesehatan has launched an app “Jamsostek Mobile” to provide swiftness in service.

“Previously, if a participant wants to claim (the benefit), it will take 10 to 15 days, but now it only takes 15 minutes through Jamsostek Mobile,” he added.

Regarding recipient data of the wage subsidy assistance (BSU), Anggoro said that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan has sent data to related ministries up to phase 4 and will send the next data in the near future.

“We have sent a total of 14 million BSU beneficiaries’ data to Ministry of Manpower for validation,” he remarked. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (GWH/EP)
