Minister of State Secretary Pratikno has dismissed the speculation that President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will reshuffle his Cabinet.

According to the Minister, the Indonesia Onward Cabinet is currently focusing on dealing with the crises caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are all surprised by reports circulating saying that 18 ministers will be reshuffled. That is not true. We are focusing on handling health and economic crises,” he said, Saturday (22/8).

Pratikno also pointed out that all ministers and their ranks are working hard to deal with the impact of the pandemic. This, according him, is in accordance with President Jokowi’s directives so his Cabinet can make the most of the momentum of the crisis for a leap of progress.

“The President constantly orders his Cabinet Ministers to focus on working, tackling the crisis, and making the most of the momentum of this crisis to make leaps of progress in all fields,” he said.

On that occasion, Pratikno also reminded that the public need the Government’s fast and focused works to seek solutions and mitigate the impacts of the ongoing pandemic in the country. Likewise, the ministers will also continue to synergize with each other in tackling the crises, he added.

“The public needs the speedy work of the Government and also all components of the nation so we can get out of the health and economic crises. We will once again make a leap of progress through fast and focused work,” he said. (BPMI/EN)
