President Jokowi Tells Ministries, Institutions to Focus on Completing Planned Programs
President Joko Jokowi Widodo asserted that challenges Indonesia is facing are quite tough, particularly due to to global economic uncertainty. To that end, the President told all ministries and institutions to focus on completing the planned programs immediately.
“(Do) ensure that the implementation of strategic programs and projects is executed on time and maintain good governance, right on target so that the impacts can be immediately felt by the people,” the President said in his introductory remarks at a limited meeting on the Realization and Prognosis of 2018 State Budget Implementation at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Monday (9/7).
The President also told his Cabinet that transfers to the regions and village funds must be immediately disbursed and the deposition of the Government’s budget in the banking system must be lowered. In addition, the President also called on all Government ranks to improve efficiency of goods expenditure such as savings on official travel expenses, meetings and meeting packages, and office stationery as well as other unproductive expenditures.
“Fix the pattern of budget absorption so it will not accumulate at the end of the year while keep maintaining the quality of existing output,” the President said.
