President Jokowi Tells PKH Recipients to Use Funds Wisely

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Thursday (14/3) held a dialogue with the recipients of the Aspiring Family Program (PKH) at STMIK Atma Luhur Auditorium, Gabek, Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung province and reminded them to use their funds wisely.

On that occasion, the President called on the recipients of the program to spend the funds on matters related to education, health, and nutrition. He also expressed his concern on malnutrition and encouraged the parents to be generous on their children’s nutrition.

“So, we don’t want our children to be malnourished and to suffer from stunting. We don’t want that. Our children must be given as much as nutrition as possible so that they can be smart, and have higher education. Therefore, the PKH (funds) is distributed,” said the President.

President Jokowi also told the parents not to spend the money on things that are not related to the program such as phone credit, cigarettes, clothes, and makeup.

President Jokowi informed the recipients that they will receive more funds in early April after the last – funds which were disbursed in January. Therefore, he reminded them to plan for the allocation of the funds.

“Plan it in details. Don’t be taken aback when you’ve received the funds; the funds must be used as intended,” he added. (UN/RAH/ES)
