President Jokowi Tells Transportation Minister to Set Radin Inten II Airport as an International Airport

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has ordered Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi to immediately set Radin Inten II Airport in Bandar Lampung, Lampung, as an international airport.

This was enunciated by the President after reviewing the existing facilities at Radin Inten II Airport on Saturday morning (24/11).

“Both the terminals and the runway are very adequate, as well as the apron is very well-prepared,” the President told reporters.

The President also ordered to open direct flights, both from Singapore to Lampung, and from Malaysia to Lampung, in order to increase tourism and investment.

“We hope that with the opening of Radin Inten II Airport to become an international airport, the economy will grow and tourism will increase in Lampung Province,” said the President.

Asked by reporters regarding when the Radin Inten II Airport is to be set as an international airport, the President said: immediately. (FID/JAY/ES)
