President Jokowi: TNI Never Tolerates Actions that Disintegrate Nation

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo as the Commander in Chief of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) told the TNI and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) not to tolerate any movements that aim disintegration and divide the nation with provocation and politicization.

“Do not hesitate to act for the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI),” said President Jokowi at the TNI assembly held at TNI AD head quarter on Jalan Veteran, Central Jakarta, Monday (7/11).

The President also ordered TNI soldiers to uphold the unity of the commands.“Do uphold the mandates of the Sapta Marga(seven point personnel commitment) and the soldier’s oath. Keep the solidity, show the identity of NKRI, the state and the nation,” the President told the soldiers.

The President also wants that harmony between the TNI and the Polri that have been shown on the ground to be maintained, nurtured, and continued at every level.

“Unity has to be applied from upper side, from officers to soldiers. This is very important,” the President said while reminding the TNI and the Polrito carry out coordination and synergy in running state’s duty.

The President also believesthat if the TNI and the Polri are solid, united, and harmonious, it will lead to unity of Indonesia, of races, tribes, and different religions that is in accordance with the goals of the country’s independence.

The assembly, which was presided by the TNI Commander, was attended by 2,185 TNI soldiers from the Navy, the Army, and the Air forces.

After delivering speech, President Jokowi shook hands with the soldiers one by one.
