President Jokowi to Attend COP26, Bilateral Meetings

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday (01/11) is slated to start his working visit in the Scottish city of Glasgow.

“Tomorrow’s activities start with a business meeting with several British companies that plan to invest or expand investment in Indonesia, including in green investment,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi said on Sunday (31/10).

Afterward, President Jokowi will attend the opening ceremony of the COP26 World Leaders Summit at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC). The President is also slated to deliver a national statement at the COP26 Summit.

On the sidelines of the COP26 Summit, President Jokowi is also scheduled to have bilateral meetings with a number of state leaders and entrepreneurs, namely the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, the President of the United States, CEO of Rockefeller, founder and former CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos, and co-founder and former CEO of Microsoft Bill Gates.

“The President will also visit the Indonesian pavilion and hold a series of bilateral meetings,” Retno said.

In the afternoon, President Jokowi will attend the VVIP reception held by Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the Kelvingrove Art Museum, Glasgow, Scotland. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RI/MUR)
