President Jokowi to Attend MUI Chairman Inauguration As Honorary Doctor in Malang
President Joko Jokowi Widodo on Wednesday (24/5) headed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base on a presidential aircraft Indonesia-1 to Malang, East Java for a working visit.
In Malang, the President is slated to witness the distribution of Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) to 1,000 students in Malang Education Board Office and to attend the Inaugural Ceremony and Granting of Professor and Honoris Causa Degree to the Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for 2015 to 2020 KH. Maruf Amin at the Campus I of the Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN), Malang.
Beside Maruf Amin, the Supreme Leader of Nahdlatul Ulama Rois Aam Syuriah is also inaugurated as a professor in sharia economy and muamalat at Faculty of Shari’a, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University in Malang.
In addition, President Jokowi is also scheduled to distribute 10,000 land certificates of national strategic program, fostering program, facilitation program, and cooperation on access to reform, in Rampal Field, Blimbing Subdistrict, Malang Regency.
From Malang, the President will carry on his working visit to Boyolali and Solo, Central Java, where the President is slated to distribute land certificate to the people in Boyolali.
Accompanying President Jokowi in his working visit were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/ Head of National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil, and a member of Presidential Advisory Board (Wantimpres) Sidarto Danusubroto. Meanwhile, Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, and Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Mohamad Nasir were in Malang prior to the Presidents arrival.
