President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is slated to inaugurate the Tukul Dam located in Tukul Village, Pacitan Regency, East Java Province, Sunday (14/02).

The President and his entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, using the Indonesian Presidential Aircraft, to the Adisutjipto Air Force Base, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region Province. From Sleman, the President then continues the trip to the inauguration site by the Indonesian Air Force Super Puma helicopter.

For the record, the Tukul Dam, which is part of the National Strategic Projects, is built to increase the water storage capacity in the surrounding area so that the irrigation water supply will be maintained. The presence of a dam can be useful as a source of raw water, energy, flood control, and tourism that will boost the local economy.
