President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo was scheduled to receive an official visit from Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Monday (7/10).

The two leaders, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ press release, are expected to discuss strategic future cooperation between the two countries which is based on the principle of comprehensive partnership.

“Prime Minister Rutte’s visit to Indonesia is part of a series of trips to Southeast Asia and the Pacific, with the next destinations to New Zealand and Australia,” the press release reads.

Rutte will be accompanied by the chief adviser for foreign affairs and defense and the national coordinator for security and counterterrorism.

During his one-day visit to Indonesia, Rutte will also meet with businessmen, students, academics, and alumni of Dutch higher education institutions in Jakarta.

Rutte’s last visit to Indonesia was in November 2016. (ES)
