President Jokowi to Open 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Sunday (09/01) departed for Bali to attend High Level Multiparty Partnership Forum and the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum via Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, East Jakarta.

“The first agenda of the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum will be a gala dinner for leaders and delegates at the Intercontinental Bali Resort, Badung regency,” Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana said in his written statement.

In his remarks at the dinner, the Head of State underscored Indonesia’s commitment to continuing to promote inclusive and sustainable global development as well as the importance of cooperation and solidarity between Indonesia and African countries.

“Such actions will be continued by the next administration,” President Jokowi said.

The President also expressed hope that the leaders and delegates of the forum can enjoy the dinner.

“Thank you, and please enjoy this dinner,” he remarked.

On the occasion, President Jokowi also introduced President-elect Prabowo Subianto, who will be inaugurated next month. This reflects a smooth leadership transition and Indonesia’s commitment to continue to build close relations with friendly countries in Africa.

For the record, the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum will be officially opened by President Jokowi at the Mulia Nusa Dua Bali Hotel on Monday (9/2). President Jokowi is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the forum. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/DNS) (GWH/MUR)
