President Jokowi to Prepare 10 New Balis in Facing Industry 4.0

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo stated that to face the Fourth Industrial Revolution we must prepare it well, just as Ministry of Industry did by launching “Making Indonesia 4.0” as a road map of Indonesia’s strategy in implementing entry into Industry 4.0.

Therefore, according to the President, the Government now focuses on food and beverage, electronic, automotive, textile, and chemical industries. “The path is clear,” President Jokowi said to the reporters after inaugurating Indonesia Industrial Summit 2018 and launched “Making Indonesia 4.0” at Cendrawasih Hall, Jakarta Convention Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/4) morning.

As for the possibility that the Industrial Revolution 4.0 will interfere labour intensive industry, the President stressed that the Government will also prepare for 10 new Balis because this will create job opportunities involving handwork, handicraft, and creative industry. “It means, we indeed have to face the Industrial Revolution 4.0.,” President Jokowi further said that other countries also enter it, if we do not enter it, we will be left behind.”

“Previously, I saw textile with 3D printing,  the automotive. I think many of us have started it.,” President Jokowi uttered.

The President acknowledged, he will personally monitor the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and then lead by Ministry of Industry. “This has been prepared for 2 years and the path is already clear,” he concluded. (FID/RAH/ES) (EPI/YM/Naster)
