President Jokowi to Unveil New Cabinet Line-Up on Monday

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said that the new Cabinet line-up for the 2019-2024 period has been completed. He added that he will announce the cabinet members on Monday (21/10) before the Vice President K.H. Ma’ruf Amin depart for Japan to attend the enthronement ceremony of the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito.

“Tomorrow morning I will announce (the Cabinet members) because later in the afternoon Pak Kyai Ma’ruf Amin must go to Japan to attend the enthronement ceremony of the Emperor,” President Jokowi told the reporters on Sunday (20/10) at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, before heading to the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) to attend his inauguration as the President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2019-2024 period.

The President went on to say that the new Cabinet Ministers will be inaugurated after the announcement, but he did not mention the specific date for the inauguration.

President Jokowi added that he will retain several former Cabinet members and will accommodate more new names in the Cabinet line-up. The President did not unveil the exact numbers of the Cabinet members that represent political parties. He further said that there will be several changes on cabinet nomenclatures.

Regarding the inauguration for his second term, the President said that the inauguration was held in a much simpler manner. “The most important thing is that after the inauguration we work together to make Indonesia a developed nation,” President Jokowi said.

On his way to the MPR Building to attend his inauguration, the President met with a number of volunteers who celebrated the inauguration at Sudut Pandang Park, Monas, Jakarta.
