President Jokowi: Togetherness Key to Developing Indonesia

Togetherness is a key to developing Indonesia and strong cooperation is needed between all parties and elements of the nation, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.

“This country needs our togetherness. This big country has big problems,” the President stated during a halalbihalal (post-Ramadan gathering) with 98 activists at Puri Agung Ballroom, Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Jakarta, Sunday (16/6).

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the nation’s unity in the midst of its diversity. “Don’t forget that this country is a big and diverse country. Therefore, we must continually remind the brothers and sisters of the country of our unity, harmony, and brotherhood,” President Jokowi stated.

The President also invited the activists to provide input to the government. “We have to be brave to provide input on what still needs to be done. The (input) will be intended for all parties,” he stated.

The President further said that in the next five years, he would no longer have any burden, so that the policies made would be for the best interest of the state.  (BPMI/EN)
