President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo held a ceremony for the final completion or topping off of housing for state civil servants and defense and security personnel in the capital city of Nusantara area, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, Friday (03/01). The President ensured that the infrastructure development in the area is proceeding according to schedule.

“One of the reasons I came here was to ensure that the housing towers for our state civil servants and for defense and security personnel could be completed on time,” said the President to media crew after the ceremony.

According to President Jokowi, 12 housing towers are scheduled for completion in July, followed by 21 additional towers in September and 14 more towers in November. In total, there will be 47 towers to be completed by the end of November 2024.

“The transfer of state civil servants and defense and security personnel here can start in June,” said the Head of State.

President Jokowi added that although this project is a long-term one, it is important to start the project and ensure that each stage of it can be completed on time.

Furthermore, the President said that the topping off serves as a symbol that the residential construction has reached a significant stage and the main structure of the buildings has been completed. This marks a major step in efforts to develop the capital city of Nusantara as the center of Indonesia’s new government.
