Following the one-on-one meeting with President of the United States Joe Biden at the White House in Washington DC, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (11/20) revealed that the discussion covered the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

First, I stressed the need to immediately stop the atrocities in Gaza. Second, there should be an immediate ceasefire. Third, the war should be halted immediately. Fourth, we should facilitate easier entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza,” President Jokowi said after releasing the second batch of humanitarian aid to Palestine, at Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase, Jakarta.

According to the President, President Biden will take into consideration several of Indonesia’s unanswered requests as inputs.

“I can affirm that everything I brought up during the meeting has been noted down,” the President said.

On that occasion, the Head of State mentioned that Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi along with several foreign ministers from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will visit some countries to discuss the Gaza conflict.

The President also conveyed that several foreign ministers will also present the outcomes of the OIC Extraordinary Summit meeting held in Saudi Arabia.

“We are indeed part of the OIC delegation entrusted with sharing the results of our discussions in Saudi Arabia,” the President remarked. (KS/UN) (RIF/LW)
