President Jokowi Urges Ministers Running for Election to Prioritize Duties

Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet who will run for legislative candidates in the upcoming 2024 elections must stay focused on carrying out their duties, according to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

“The most important thing is that their candidacy should not hamper their daily tasks,” the President told journalists after attending the People’s Conference (Musra) event at Senayan sports complex, Jakarta, Monday (05/14).

According to the President, regulations stipulate that Cabinet members are allowed to run for legislative candidates.

The President further said that he will continuously evaluate Cabinet Ministers’ performance and it is possible to replace the relevant Ministers if their candidacy hampers their duties and performances. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RI/MUR)
