President Jokowi Urges People to be Vigorous to Get through COVID-19 Pandemic

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo urged the public to be vigorous, to work hard, in order to get through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Government continues to strive to reduce the transmission but it is not an easy task,” the President stated during the Distribution of Working Capital Assistance, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (19/8).

Therefore, the President instructed the people to continue to wear masks, keep their distance, and wash their hands after activities.

“I think that’s a way to avoid it and to not be in a crowd. I think that’s the way we should do it,” the President said.

Meanwhile, the President also announced the development of the COVID-19 vaccine which has entered the third clinical trial and has been tested on volunteers.

“We hope we can make it ready by January, we will be even more grateful if we can make it ready even faster,” President Jokowi said.
