President Jokowi Urges Regional Heads to Resolve Investment Problems
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (01/17) ordered regional heads to pay more attention to investment.
“I hope there will be no more complex licensing problem,” President Jokowi said at the Opening of the 2023 National Coordination Meeting of Regional Leaders Communication Forum (Forkopimda) at Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Bogor regency, West Java province.
The President further said that currently there are two main problems in the region related to investment, namely spatial planning (KKPR) and building permits (IMB).
According to President Jokowi, almost half of the regions in the country have not resolved their KKPR problem and he ordered regional governments to immediately resolve the issue.
As for building permits (IMB) problem, which are currently being renamed by a new term “building approval” (PBG), the President emphasized that swift process of permits is more important. “What it’s called does not really matter,” he added.
Therefore, President Jokowi ordered regional heads to immediately resolve the two problems, for it can ease the investment process in the regional, citing the 2022 investment data that 53 percent of investment flowed outside the island of Java and reached Rp1,207 trillion from the target of Rp1,200 trillion.
“I order the governors, regents, mayors, and Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) to immediately resolve the unsolved problems. Don’t make a delay,” he remarked. (FID/UN) (GWH/MUR)
