President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (01/23) attended the 2045 Golden Student and Santri (Islamic boarding school students) Convocation Ceremony alongside Quran teachers gathering from across Java Island at the Kalianget Recreation Park Football Field, Wonosobo regency, Central Java province.

On that occasion, the President encouraged santri and students to play an active role in contributing to the nation’s and the state’s progress.

“Santri and students have great chances to play a crucial role in advancing our country in various regions,” the President said.

According to the President, the Government remains committed to providing strong support and fostering enthusiasm to enhance the quality of human resources in the country.

The President also underlined the importance for students to excel in various fields of knowledge, enabling them to thrive in both individual and international competitions.

“Without these essential steps, it would be challenging for us to leap forward and attain the status of a developed country,” he said.

In addition, the President encouraged students and those in Islamic boarding schools to set an example for the younger generation, promoting love for the country, unity, and the practice of a tolerant, moderate, and friendly teaching of Islam.

During the event, the President warmly called upon santri and students to actively participate in the upcoming fiesta of democracy on February 14, urging them to exercise their voting rights responsibly.

“Let’s make the most of our voting rights and together contribute to the advancement and prosperity of our nation,” the President remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RIF/MUR)
