In response to the news on murder and mutilation case of four civilians in Mimika regency, Papua province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (08/31) ordered law enforcers to carry out thorough probe while delivering his press statement at Toware sport center in Jayapura regency, Papua province.

On that occasion, the President also directed Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Force (TNI) Andika Perkasa to support the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in carrying out thorough probe considering a number of TNI Army soldiers got involved in the case so that public trust to TNI will not fade.

For the record, six Army personnel were named suspects in the mutilation case in Mimika regency, Papua. The Military Police’s investigation team imposed 20-day-temporary detention on them so that the investigation can be conducted. (DND/BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (AP/HD)
