President Jokowi accompanied by Vice President Jusuf Kalla and a numbers of ministers leave the Presidential Palace for mass Friday prayer at Monas, on Friday (2/12)

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo accompanied by Vice President Jusuf Kalla performed Friday Prayer at the National Monument (Monas) Park, Jakarta, flocked by muslims who gathered at the park to perform mass prayer on Friday afternoon (2/12).

President Jokowi and Vice President Jusuf Kalla left Presidential Palace at 11.40 a.m. during rain and headed to Monas Park via Masjid Baiturrahman located in the Presidential Palace’s complex.

Upon his arrival, President Jokowi was welcomed by loud chanting of takbir echoed by hundreds of thousands people attending the Friday prayer since morning. “We apreciate President Jokowi for attending this event,” said one of the organizer.

During the prayer, President Jokowi was accompanied by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, and Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto. Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Indonesia National Defence Forces (TNI) Commander Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo, and Indonesian National Police Chief Tito Karnavian also attended the event. (ES)(RAS/AW/YM/Naster)
