President Jokowi Visits Bung Karno’s Grave in Blitar

As part of his working visit in East Java province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Thursday (3/1) visited the grave of Indonesia’s founding father and first President Soekarno or Bung Karno, in Blitar, 161 kilometers to the south west of provincial capital Surabaya.

A number of high-ranking officials accompanied the President during the visit, including Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, and East Java Governor Soekarwo.

During the East Java visit, the President is also scheduled to distribute land certificates to the residents in Blitar regency and inaugurate a low-cost apartment (rusunawa) at the Tulungagung State Islamic Institute (IAIN) and the Tulungagung Teacher Training College (STKIP PGRI).
