President Jokowi Visits Flood Victims in Sentani

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana arrived at the Sentani Airport, Jayapura, Papua, on Monday (1/4) at around 13:15 Eastern Indonesia Time (WIT).

Upon arrival at Sentani Airport, President Jokowi listened to Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe who reported to the President the post-disaster relief in Sentani after flash flood hit the areas last month.

On that occasion, President Jokowi also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB), the Papua Provincial Government, the Jayapura Regency Government, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, and other relevant institutions.

After listening to the report and witnessing the signing of the MoU, President Jokowi and his entourage visited the victims of the flash flood in Toware Sport Centers, Sentani.

Also present during the event were, among others, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil, Head of the National Agency for Disaster Management Doni Monardo, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe, and Special Staff to the President Lenis Kogoya.
