President Jokowi Visits Forest Reforestation Facilities in Nusantara Capital

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (12/20) visited Tropical Forest Reforestation Miniature in Nusantara Capital region, North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province.

Upon arrival, President Jokowi and Cabinet Ministers inspected facilities and planted trees in the area.

In the meantime, Deputy for the Environment and Natural Resources of the Nusantara Capital Authority Mirna Safitri said that the Miniature Tropical Forest Reforestation is part of the measures in developing innovation for reforestation in the Capital.

“The Miniature Tropical Forest Reforestation aims to be a living lab for various parties interested in developing innovation for reforestation in protected areas of the Nusantara Capital,” Mirna said.

Mirna went on to say that facilities inspected by the President during the visit including an information center for tropical forest ecosystem in the island of Kalimantan and a facility for displaying forest products produced by the people of East Kalimantan.

Mirna further said that the Tropical Forest Reforestation Miniature has a nursery for cultivating plants before being planted in the Nusantara Capital area. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RI/MMB)
