President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Friday (09/29) visited the Hub Space X KAI Expo transportation exhibition and travel fair at the Plenary Hall of Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Jakarta.

On that occasion, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi expressed his appreciation for President Jokowi’s visit, adding that the event showcased the realization of the Government’s targets in the transportation sector.

“We are delighted today because President Jokowi paid a visit and saw exhibitions of MRT, LRT (Light Rail Transit), high-speed train, which were his targets that we have achieved,” he said.

Budi stated that the exhibition was held in order to provide educational information to the public, especially Indonesian young generations, on the transportation sector development in the country while expressing hope that the event can boost the younger generations’ enthusiasm about and interest in participating in further developing the country’s mass transportation with the Government.

“The President was surprised to see what has been done. It is useful to educate our young people to motivate them to do their best with confidence,” he said.

Budi further stated that upon President Jokowi’s direct order to enhance mass transportation development in the country, he will involve several stakeholders in carrying out the order, including ministries/Government institutions, regional governments, academics, and the media.
