Ending his working visit in East Nusa Tenggara Province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana on Thursday (14/10) afternoon took a walk to Kompas Bajo which is located in Puncak Waringin area.

The architect of Kompas Bajo Yori Antar called the place “the best place to enjoy Labuan Bajo” since from there visitors can enjoy sunset views three times better than other places.

“From here we can see the sunset, and silhouettes of the islands as well as hundreds of phinisi boats,” Yori said.

For the record, Kompas Bajo was constructed with the style of the traditional Manggarai house. The building with a conical roof is also a creative hub for the creative economy community in East Nusa Tenggara, especially Labuan Bajo, which contains a souvenir center, ikat weaving center, lounge, and so on.

Also accompanying President Jokowi on the visit were Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Cabinet Secretariat Pramono Anung, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Governor of East Nusa Tenggara Viktor Laiskodat, Regent of West Manggarai Edistasius Endi, and Architect of Kompas Bajo Yori Antar. (BPMI/HIM/UN) (GWH/LW)
