During his working visit to East Java province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (04/20), accompanied by Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto and Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, visited a Madurese handicrafts stand at Trunojoyo Airport in Sumenep regency.

Before the inauguration of the airport, the President and his entourage visited the Madurese handicrafts stand where the President bought two batik cloths and one traditional headress udeng blangkon.

The Defense Minister also bought an udeng blangkon that looks exactly alike. Both of them also wore the udeng blangkon during the inauguration ceremony of the airport.

Seller of the udeng blangkon Arif Wahyudi stated that the particular udeng blangkon bought by the President and the Defense Minister was a typical blangkon of the ancient Madurese kings. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (FI/HD/EP)
